When the machine initially starts its operation, both the Primary and Secondary units bring the room to the preset temperature. The thermostat then shuts down the Secondary unit, leaving the Primary unit to generate steam continuously – thus keeping the room always full of steam. The Secondary unit cuts in and out as the thermostat calls for more heat.
